Can HIIT With Weights Produce Maximum Muscle In Less Time?

By Howe Russ

Naturally, if you walked up to anybody at your local gym and asked them if they would like to learn how to get a six pack in 3 minutes they would probably jump at the chance. Of course, everybody believes such things to be nonsense. However, if you're looking into how to build muscle you are about to discover why HIIT can produce very good results in less than half the time of regular resistance training.

Gone are the days when people need to spend hours working out in the gym after a long, busy day at the office. Nowadays you can get great results in as little as half an hour. []

The levels of variety and intensity are the two most important factors within any solid training program. Variety simply means challenging the body in ways it's not used to. You could simply swap low reps for high reps, or perform exercises in a different order than usual.

At one point on another, almost every gym user has encountered a period of little progress. In most cases, this occurs because their body has simply adapted to the routine the person has been doing. If you have been training the same way and lifting the same level of resistance for the last three months, it's no wonder your muscles have adapted. They know they don't need to grow any more in order to handle the workload being put on them, because they did it all last week and the week before that.

So the first step here is to ensure you never repeat the exact same workout from this point forwards. Even if the changes are quite small, they will still generate fresh progress.

Intensity levels are often misunderstood. No, increasing your intensity in the gym does not simply mean blasting through exercises at maximum speed. You should never sacrifice good lifting technique for anything, no matter whether it's more weight or more speed. Intensity means keeping your rest periods to a minimum, that's all.

The shock factor of hitting the body with new, unfamiliar exercises and also keeping rest times down is enough to spur new growth in even the hardest of gainers.

To put this into context with a routine designed to focus on your abdominal area, try this simple but brutal workout today: []

* Sit Up

* Mountain Climber

* Elevated Plank

Each exercise should be done for 30 seconds, with no rest between exercises. When you reach the end of the circuit simply rest for a minute and then go again. Three rounds would take less than 10 minutes. That may seem like nothing at all, given the hours people often spend doing crunches and leg raises in the gym, but the high intensity levels here are something most people cannot cope with.

It is true that the simple session above can effectively help you to learn how to get a six pack in 3 minutes or slightly longer. The important thing to remember after you have tried it, of course, is that you can also apply this method to training any body part you wish. Incorporate it into your next chest workout and watch how much more difficult it becomes. The key to learning how to build muscle on a regular basis lies in your ability to adapt and configure your training to suit your goals.

Hair Removal and Skin Treatment With Lasers

By Morgana Reichel

Hair removal and skin treatment are the two primary uses for lasers in cosmetic procedures.

Laser Hair Removal

Hair in unwanted places is a hassle, and you might feel self-conscious about your appearance because of it. Laser hair removal is a simple, almost painless, and long-lasting way to get rid of unwanted hair.

It is a fairly straightforward process. A laser emits a high energy beam of light that is absorbed by the hair follicle. The hair follicle is treated just long enough, so as to not damage the surrounding skin, with laser pulses that last only a fraction of a second. The laser light energy is transformed into heat once absorbed, this destroys the hair bulb at the base of the hair follicle.

Your hair colour depends on a pigment called melanin, which is produced by melanocytes, and is found in the hair bulb. This melanin pigment is the target for the laser energy in laser hair removal. This means that a laser's energy will be more effective, and the results better, if an individual has more melanin in his/her hair.

It doesn't guarantee permanent hair removal, but the treatment effectively slows hair growth. Several treatments are often needed to provide relief from unwanted hair. Periodic maintenance treatments might also be needed.

The laser safely removes body hair without damaging the surrounding lighter skin in hair removal treatments.

In general, the procedure is painless. Some slight discomfort-often compared to a rubber band against the skin-may occur, and soreness or tenderness may also accompany the healing process, but these symptoms are very minor and curable.

The best thing about laser hair removal is that the results are long-term. To completely rid yourself of unwanted hair, it may take several treatment sessions, but once it is gone, in most cases, the effect will last. Don't forget it's simple to treat new hair growth.

Laser Skin Treatments

Skin treatments involving lasers differ from hair removal, because they go beyond the upper layer of skin (epidermis) and target below the second layer (dermis). There are various types of laser skin treatments and one very popular type is laser skin resurfacing. It involves a laser that gently removes layers of damaged skin so that healthy skin can form in its place.

Laser skin treatments even out skin tone and reduce signs of aging, such as highly-visible veins, wrinkles, and blotchiness.

Building healthy new tissue underneath the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin is achieved with another type of laser skin treatment. The tightness and elasticity that your skin once had will be repaired, in no time at all, because this healthy tissue will reduce sagging skin and wrinkles.

The actual laser skin treatment is rarely painful. And, the healing pain is minimal in most cases. Following the resurfacing session, your face will likely be red and a little swollen. This should go away in less than a week. You can go back to your regular life right after you leave the clinic. To achieve the desired results with laser skin treatment, it may take several procedures; the results might not be noticeable right away, but by the end of your sessions, you should notice changes in your skin.

Make Aging Appear to Go Backwards

By Alina H. Winamaker

As people get older, skin begins to form wrinkles and lines, and begins to sag because the elasticity in the skin becomes less strong. Young skin looks plump and taut thanks to collagen, but as we age, the collagen in our skin slowly decreases. The effects of dermal fillers are immediate - so you do not have to wait for weeks until the swelling has gone down to see how the procedure has turned out.

Dermal fillers are known by many names: injectable fillers, cosmetic fillers, injectable cosmetic fillers, tissue fillers, injectable tissue fillers, facial fillers, injectable facial fillers, injectable collagen, or injectable hyaluronic acid. These are compounds that are injected into the skin of a patient to smooth out wrinkles and lines, for rejuvenation of the face, to enhance the skin or make recessed scars less noticeable, dermal fillers do a lot. They are commonly used to plump up the lips and remove deep creases that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth, and creases between the eyebrows.

This process of using dermal fillers is a way to have a younger looking face, to seem as if you have gone back in time and it is much less invasive than other procedures. These is a much less expensive and risky procedure than a face lift, and not much, if any, recovery time is needed. They are a popular solution to treat unsightly lines and wrinkles and scarring from injury or acne. When plastic surgery seems like too invasive of a procedure, dermal filler injections are the right option to revive your appearance.

There are many factors for how long these fillers will be effective, including which product is chosen, skin type of the patient, and the injection site, There are various type of dermal fillers in the market today, and the type that will be used will depend on the area to be treated and the degree of lifting required. Your surgeon will help you select the filler that will best help you reach the look you have in mind. Dermal fillers today are usually one of these 3 types: hyaluronic acid, fat, and collagen. Each of these fillers last about a year, at which point you will need to get re-treated.

Some of the popular fillers in the market include brand names such as Radiesse, Juvederm, Restylane, Hylaform, Artefill, Sculptra, ZyPlast, DermaDeep, DermaLive, and Perlane. For your type of facial concerns, the doctor will run through your options, and assist you in making the best choice for your needs.

Dermal fillers were the second-most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment, just after Botox injections. There are very few complications associated with the procedure. At times, some side effects like swelling, itching, filler shifting, rash or infection, bruising, and some people just plain are not happy after with the effects.

When done with expert precision, these dermal filler effects can be more noticeable and long lasting, so that the patient doesn't need to go back often to maintain the enhancements. Doing some research is sensible, this will ensure that your dermal fillers are administered by the most qualified and experienced doctor.

Getting Started With Building More Muscle

By Russ Howe

Every single day as a Personal Trainer I am asked how to build muscle by guys looking to pack on some additional size. Some have struggled for years, others are just starting out. Either way, this is an issue which has the vast majority of gym users confused.

Today we answer this question for you. Right here, right now.

Firstly we need to establish your goal. Believe it or not, this is the area where men first lose their way. Whereas women are forthcoming in their desire to lose body fat, men tend to want the best of both worlds. How many times have we heard that somebody wishes to lose fat but also get bigger and stronger? Too many.

If you have had long history of gym training already you will know it's very hard to get both weight loss and strength results simultaneously, which is why you need to set this goal at the start. Those beginning on their fitness journey will be able to enjoy perhaps 2-3 weeks with the results of both fat loss and tissue building, but once the body gets used to your new training lifestyle you too need to make the choice.

Why? Because you cannot do both at the same time long-term. The general rule is that in order to build you need to work at a calorie surplus, whereas to cut you need to operate at a calorie deficit. So doing both becomes somewhat impossible, you see?

If your fitness program is that of an athlete, you have great genetics and your nutrition plan is so good that your quest to get fit is literally dominating your life, it is possible to structure a plan of course but for the overwhelming majority of people who simply want to train after they go to work or around their family life, it's not feasible.

Once you have set your goal, in this case to get bigger otherwise you wouldn't be reading this article, we can get your diet in place and begin looking at the following aspects of your gym routine:

* What type of exercises should you do?

* How many days per week should you use the gym?

* Are you doing too many or too few reps?

The best way to add size is to go back to basics with the iron. When you hit the weights keep the focus on big, proven, compound exercises such as deadlifts, squats and pull ups. These movements are proven to help you pack on the most size and strength in the quickest possible time. Don't spend needless hours working tiny muscle groups.

Furthermore, understand the importance of rest. When training for size your body does not grow while your are in the gym. On the contrary, it grows while you are at rest. Try not to perform more than 4 sessions per week and you will see a great return in gains. It's hard to stay away when you get into training, but it is very important.

When it comes to repetitions, this easy-to-follow system will keep you on the right track for building lean mass and keep you progressing at a good, constant pace. Your target zone is 8-12 reps. This is the fundamental training zone for growth. Start with a weight you can push out eight repetitions with and as your strength increases you'll notice you can get more reps out over the coming training sessions. Once you can push out more than twelve, increase the weight and return to eight reps. This progressive stance will keep you from reaching any kind of plateau.

Now you know the basic rules of how to build muscle in the gym, we recommend you take some time to apply the tips to your own individual routine and you will be amazed at the results you can achieve!

The Perks Of Getting A Treadmill

By Hope Hill

Why You Should Exercise

With the today's world placing a premium on speed and convenience, health has been put at risk. Exercise is extremely important to burn the excess fat, lower cholesterol levels and develop immunity and stamina. Even in these fast-paced moments, you can add health and fitness into your daily living by getting yourself a treadmill. A good resource where you can get some basic information on fitness is a treadmill review.

Treadmills And Their Perks

Hopping on a treadmill-even if you are simply walking or running-can do wonders for your body and total condition. Walking and running, being workouts that make your heart work fast in a good way, burns plenty of calories. You can pick the treadmill workout program that suits your goal best, like losing those pounds, for example. If you wish to adopt a healthier, fitter lifestyle, the treadmill is the suitable equipment for you.

What Makes Up a Treadmill

Speed adjustment is a basic and fundamental feature on treadmills. There are lots of other standard features that vary your workouts to help boost fitness levels and achieve your weight loss goals. Manufacturers create these treadmill variations to make your exercise routine more challenging and unique each day.

To make your workouts easier and fuss-free, modern treadmills feature pre-planned workout schemes. There's a program for losing weight or endurance conditioning, which you can select before you begin doing exercises. As you operate the treadmill, the speed and incline will instantly change at regular intervals. This can be a gradual increase or in a predetermined mixed pattern.

If you want to take note of your heart rate while having your workouts, there are built-in programs made for that purpose along with a heart rate monitor. This monitor should be clipped to your body or gripped in your hand. Clipping your monitor to your body gives a better reading, though, something that treadmills of more modern make have in common. This means that, it can record your cardiovascular fitness level and the intensity of your exercise routine.

You can save your custom settings in the treadmill memory so that you don't need to program them before each workout. This is very useful if you share the treadmill with other people. Modern treadmills also have the option to save your exercise history and past fitness levels, great for pacifying your obsessive-compulsive side.

iFit Live technology is a premium treadmill feature that gives you hundreds of virtual courses simulating those at the live destinations. For example, athletes can train at home for a marathon being held in another city. The iFit Live allows you to "compete" with other people who are as well on the same training course as yours. For this to function, you only need a treadmill compatible with iFit Live as well as an Web connection. Other high-tech features of treadmills can include LCD touch screens and music players.

The Treadmill Anatomy

The very core of the treadmill is the conveyor belt. Because the belt is made to move backward, you have to move in a forward motion and coordinate its speed so you stay on it. Because the belt extends up to the frame of the treadmill, you get to stay on it regardless of your body weight. It's possible to change the deck's angle as desired. This increases your workout's level of intensity and adds variety.

Almost all running decks are mounted on damping elements to make the treadmill shock-absorbent. The belt is also padded for ease and comfort when you are walking or running on it. You can say alot regarding the quality of a treadmill by looking at its motor, belt, deck, and rollers since these are the bare bones that comprise the equipment.

Treadmill frames are made foldable or non-foldable. Select the foldable units if you'll be doing exercises at home. Because the deck can be folded up, even a small room will do. Note that the long-lasting foldable treadmills cost more compared to their nonfoldable counterparts. The nonfoldable models are perfect for public use, such as training studios, since they can deal with more frequent usage.

Treadmills And Their Types

Treadmills are also classified as per the user and particular health purpose. It helps to notice what the treadmill is for because some treadmills-like those for runners, for example-are more expensive than, say, treadmills for walkers. Take into account the weight and body built of anyone who will workout on the treadmill regularly. Taller users have to have a treadmill with an extended tread belt that can easily accommodate their long strides. If your home gym treadmill will be used by the entire family, take into consideration the increased depreciation that the machine will go through. If the treadmill is for several individuals, opt for the more stable units that can endure the daily wear and tear.

Wrapping It Up

Fitness enthusiasts will agree: a treadmill is an important health arsenal in every home. Yet there are factors to consider before selecting one for your needs. Throw in the user types, frequency of usage, and purpose into the mixture of choosing the proper treadmill for you. Think about your budget too, and when you find a model that most closely fits those criteria, go for it!

Detoxification - An Ancient Ritual Diet

By Wilson Resturbee

Most of the public are likely aware of detox diets if they have desired to lose weight. The reason for that is weight loss is often a side effect of following such a dieting approach. However, originally the purpose was to clean out the dangerous toxins that we consume on an everyday basis. The body is equipped with an inbred machine that rids itself of germs already. So the detox diet is really more of a support or boost to help your body do what it naturally does. Talking to your family doctor before the onset of any demanding diet is a good first step. We will be advising and informing you about the detox diet today.

One thing about detox diet programs, if one doesn't work for you, there are many more that you can try. The purpose of a detox diet is to use substances that will clean out your digestive tract to allow poisons to be removed from your body. Two of the main things used in detoxification are fiber and water, as both will stimulate the organs. We are specifically referring to the elimination of wastes every day. In the absence of daily elimination via the bowels, there can be a build-up of toxins within the intestinal tract. Depending on the duration without elimination, it is possible for toxins to be introduced into the body via the vascular system.

It is important to obtain a good amount of information on the specific detox diet you are thinking about. The reason for this is some are more difficult and severe than others. Some detox diets are fairly gentle and will not cause excessive stress on your body. Many detox diets give a suggestion of three days to a week in duration. Your shape should be respectable if you want to endeavor this diet for an extended period of time. A fast in which only water, or juice, is consumed has long been known for its ability to flush toxins from the body. Yet countless members of the public attempt this in a place that is carefully monitored by experienced staff.

Some of the detox diet approaches have followers use laxatives but know that not all of them do. Using laxatives can help remove the toxins from your body as well as helping with digestion. And obviously, waste elimination helps this process. Elimination is but one critical component to the overall detoxification process. All things being considered, it may be more beneficial to focus on other body support such as those for the liver and kidneys. Above all else, you may consult with a licensed DO, Doctor of Osteopathy, certified herbalist or your family doctor. Learning as much as you can is the key to successfully using the detox diet.

The conditions for which the detox diet may be helpful are often associated with the effects of living in a highly industrialized society. Moreover, it is not so much the type of society as it is the lifestyles that are more prevalent within any particular society. The things that play a major role are your exercise and eating habits, as well as your stress levels.

If so then you should look at how much fat you are consuming. If you aren't getting the results you desire, then it's time to up your essential fatty acids daily intake. You can attain higher levels of anabolic effects in addition to greater nitrogen retention. Many have experienced positive results by taking more EFA's as opposed to more protein and less fats.

Increasing testosterone levels in your body can usually be achieved by taking some bodybuilding supplements. You can actually avoid the need for such a supplement by simply eating a certain amount of foods containing saturated fats. We all know that you should not have too high a daily level of saturated fats. To sustain your cholesterol levels, and produce testosterone regularly, eating a proper daily amount of saturated fats is recommended. When you follow this regimen, you will no longer have to purchase extra supplemental products to enhance your testosterone levels.

Their intense training needs dictate that bodybuilders put a greater emphasis on nutrition. Given all of this, it's easy to conclude that making the choice to eat the right kinds of fats in moderation is the best way to go. Increased muscle development and desirable fat loss will come when you implement these findings in your diet.

Now the Norm: Cosmetic Procedures

By Melinda Croning

We all want to look younger and well rested. By using skin treatments and injectables, plastic surgeons help patients avoid surgery and still regain their youthful appearance. Non-invasive cosmetic procedures appeal to those patients who want to improve their appearance without the risk of complications or recovery time needed with more invasive plastic surgery treatments.

Cosmetic surgery of any kind used to be an embarrassment, but in today's world things have changed so dramatically that people readily admit that they have had cosmetic surgery. One of the fastest growing areas of plastic surgery is non-surgical procedures. Non-invasive procedures target the problematic areas of the face and body that may make you look old and tired. Although they often provide temporary results, in the short term these procedures are very effective.

There are many reasons that patients may opt for non-invasive alternatives rather than surgery. First of all, most of these treatments are very affordable. Injectables or surface treatments are relatively inexpensive, while surgery may be out of your budget. Also, there is little to no downtime needed for recovery. It can be difficult to get time off of work, as those of us with jobs know all too well. Patients are able to immediately return to their normal routine, as most of these procedures are done in very little time at the office. Finally, there is the reduced risk and the safety factor. This type of cosmetic procedure presents very few complications as compared to surgery. And if you do not like the results, they do wear off with time.

Non-invasive procedures involve two main types: injectables and surface treatments. Typically, injectables are used to plump up the face in an effort to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Surface treatments, like laser treatment and chemical peels, reduce wrinkles. Patients' most popular non-invasive treatment is Botox. It is a natural, purified protein that is injected into the brow area where facial lines and wrinkles exist.

The deep, persistent lines between your brows that develop over time are smoothed by physicians when they use it. Just a few small injections cause the facial muscles that form those lines to relax, for up to four months. The results are dramatic and apparent within days. Even better is the fact that patients can go back to normal activity almost immediately after receiving the injections.

By plumping the skin, facial fillers replace volume that is lost due to the natural process of aging. Wrinkles are smoothed and the youthful contour of your face is restored by these injectables.

Another popular non-invasive cosmetic procedure that helps to reduce the signs of aging is laser treatment. Laser skin resurfacing is a procedure that smooths the facial skin and in some cases, can improve the firmness of skin.

A chemical peel evens out skin tone affected by age, sun damage, or acne. By using a chemical solution to remove the damaged outer layers of your skin, this procedure creates younger, smoother skin. It can improve the look of freckles, scars, fine lines and wrinkles, as well as sun-damaged skin.

Cosmetic procedures are varied. Evidently, there are many ways to make you feel more beautiful and look younger. The good news is that you no longer have to break the bank to get your own treatment.
