Medford Summer Camps For The Holidays

By Sally Delacruz

People like resting and taking a break from their day to day activities and spending time with their families and friends. Children also look forward to taking these breaks to have fun and play with their friends. There are many activities lined up for the kids and are offered by Medford summer camps such as skiing, swimming, scrabble and various sporting activities. These activities are always put in place for the kids to enjoy themselves and also learn, they are always pocket friendly to the parents.

During summer holidays, the camps put up programs for children of all ages including teenagers and youth. In this places they interact and with other kids from other parts of the world. They learn many things including different cultures, games and languages from each other and from their couches/teachers that are there to guide and supervise them.

Taking your children to the summer camp is very advantageous to both the parent and the kid but mostly very beneficial to the kids. The benefits are many like, interacting with other kids from different places. Having fun playing different games while learning as well. For the parents, they feel good knowing that their kids are in a safe place learning many things under the supervision of the skilled teachers.

They also get to discover their talents since they are taught things like cooking, music, baking, acting and different arts and design. They also get to make new friends and keep themselves busy with many educative things rather that just staying at home and being naughty, or just watching movies and just lazing around.

They also learn to socialize with other kids learning different languages, games and cultures from other parts of the world. Other lessons that they learn are cooking, drawing, dancing, singing, sewing, knitting etc. They also learn to be social and many other life skills like first aid in case of any emergency, being independent and knowing how to share things.

The camps are also very educative in that the small kids learn how to do basic things like doing the dishes, spreading the beds and even making simple things like sandwiches and salads. As much as there are many good things in taking your kids to the summer camps there are also disadvantages like: some kids find in difficult to mingle with the others whom they do not know.

Accidents and bullying might occur and the camp directors might not be aware of it. The kids get to spend to less time with their family especially if they are from school and headed to four week camp then back to school. Some parents might find it difficult to let go or hand over the responsibility of their child or children to someone else.

As much as we have seen the advantages and disadvantages of the summer camps, it is evident that the it is better for the kids to spend their time at the summer holiday camps to learn the many different things and the independence is very important because the youths are young adults and learning how to be independent is very important for them so take your kids to the camps.
