Get The Most From Your London Yoga Class

By Liliana Mills

Have you decided to join a London yoga class? If you have you may have lots of questions going around your head that might be stressing you out. Most people have anxieties about going to their first session. You may be worried that people might laugh at you. You might also be concerned that you will fall over or that you will be forced to the front of the room. Do not panic, here is how to get the most of your class.

The best place to start is by recognising that you are not alone in these emotions. Your instructor will know how to help you settle in. They are not school teachers, they will be gentle with you and you will not be put into detention if you fail. You will be able to pick where you stand, you will not be forced to do anything you are not comfortable with.

Here are three tips that will help you to get the most out of your yoga class. So put on your stretchy clothes, grab your mat and fill up a bottle of water to take with you. Before you head out read these three tips and you will not only survive your calls, you will love it.

Breathing is one of the most important aspects in this exercise. You will learn about paying attention to how you inhale and exhale. Many people breathe in via the mouth so practice using your nose instead. The oxygen needs to be transported to the muscles you are using so think about the air targeting certain points you are using in your body.

Paying attention in class is a must. You do not have to stand at the front but do make sure you have a clear view of your instructor. Do not copy the people in front of you as they may not be replicating the move correctly. Your instructor will be properly trained and will show you how to do the moves in the right way. Remember you will not be able to copy the move perfectly, listen to what you are told and the instructor will remind you not to push yourself too far.

Finally pay attention to your mind and your own body. Use any mirrors that are in the room to see your positions and learn what your body is doing. Looking in a mirror will help you spot any errors easier. You should also listen to any pains that you may experience and alter you moves if the stretching is proving to be too difficult or causes you a lot of discomfort. Remember that you should not try for perfection, it takes years to become a master.

Use these tips to help you relax before a class and prepare properly. Learn to relax and remember all the other people in the class are there for the same reasons. No one wants to poke fun and everyone wants to learn how to achieve the health benefits and relaxation that can be learned through this type of exercise.

Now you are mentally prepared go and join the London yoga class and have fun. Before you know it the session will be over and you will be counting down the days until your next experience.
