Women's Fat Loss

By Sammy Ason

For women, the idea of losing weight brings about all types of emotions. In comparison to male weight loss, the female version is much more difficult to achieve. While men and women are both human beings, their body composition is certainly different. The uniqueness of the DNA in both male and females can be blamed for the reason that they don't go about the process of fat loss, the same. DNA is the main culprit behind the way fat is carried on a female body and how it can be burned away.

This is due in part to the female body having different levels of hormones existing in a more delicate balance than in men. Because women menstruate monthly, their hormone levels are constantly shifting. The female body is always adapting to the loss of blood and vital nutrients that proceed along with it. But to say that menstruation is the culprit in the difficulty of female weight loss is not entirely true. There are other factors within a woman's body that alter weight loss such as stress. Now there's something that both men and women have in common!

With all this talk of factors outside out influence, this doesn't imply that there is nothing that can be done to lose fat. In women, fat is harder to lose in certain areas of their body. A women can still look "fat" after a great deal of weight loss, simply because the way fat is distributed on their body. The arms, thighs, stomach and butt are the most common areas where fat is stored in women.

Men also share this type of problem. But they are more likely to burn it off because they lift weights to build muscle. Muscle, in turn will burn off more fat from the body. Women are less prone to this type of fitness method because of the fear of looking bulky or masculine. But quick workouts that include building muscle is something women should be more inclined to do, if they seek to lose the fat.

A weight loss plan for women most likely will include healthy eating as its cornerstone. For men, their plans will usually consist of eating properly and participating in a workout regimen. Since women are less likely than men to spend time in a gym, their level of weight loss may not be as much, compared to men's. But choosing to diet alone will not bring forth the maximum amount of fat loss. Exercise should be use by both male and female in order to achieve optimal results.
